McWane Center with Great Grandaddy and Nanny

Last Friday we went to the McWane Center in Birmingham with Alex's great grandparents, their grandson, another Alex:), and Emily. We had the best time! There was SO MUCH to do! Even at 2 there was a lot of stuff he couldn't really do and we still spent almost the entire day there. It was unbelievable! I think there are more pictures in this post than I have ever put in one. I couldn't leave any out! Thank you so much for a fun trip Richard and Louise-we loved it!
At the water station with Big Alex and Great-Grandaddy.

Look at the bottom of the TV screen at the cute weatherman.

He could see himself on a tv screen and was waving to himself looking a little unsure.

Of course he found the train table!

The two Alex's watching Ice Age on the way to Bham. Nanny and Great grandaddy are so smart. They knew Alex's head would be too little for the headphones so they brought a sweatband to hold them on. He doesn't realize how funny he looks!

"Look at dose trains!"

A giant Lite Brite!! How cool! I couldn't resist making a design either:)

In the tornado with mom.

Showing their tickets to the "big movie", aka the IMAX. Alex was a little unsure at first but then moved from my lap to his own seat. The whole time he kept pointing and saying, "Look at dat sea lion (whale, cuddlefish, etc)!" I would shush him and he would say shhh right back to me.

Digging up dinosaur bones!

I think he was a little confused as to how the hands kept popping back at him when he pushed them down:)

Easter in Nashville

We went to Nashville for Easter since John was going to be on call (I feel like I've said that in a lot of posts lately:)) We got there Friday about noon-right in front of the tornadoes-and got to eat lunch at Las Palmas-my favorite Mexican restaurant. My friend, Mandi, and her little boy, Preston, got to join us also. Afterwards, we went to Mandi's so Alex and Preston could play together. Thanks Mom and Dad for a nice relaxing weekend!

Preston was intrigued with my big belly. He followed me to the bathroom once and when I came out he said, "baby sister come out?" He was so funny. He wanted me to pull up my shirt and show him my belly and he would come and sit by me and cut his eyes over to my stomach like he wasn't quiet sure about it. Mandi-I think he's ready for you to have the big belly!:) I didn't realize how big I looked until this picture. It's just the angle right? ha!

That night we went to Opry Mills for Alex to ride the train. He has cooled off on loving trains just a little bit but he is still very into them. Here we are waiting on the train to come pick him up.

He loves to have a ticket to whatever he is going to do. He'll just hold it and stare at it.

On the train with grandaddy!

Saturday night we went to Russell and Nan's house for an Easter dinner of yummy steaks! My aunt and uncle came and so did Nan's mom. We had to have an Easter egg hunt for Alex-notice his entourage following him-and then he had to show off his golf skills. My dad got a cup out at our house for him to hit the golf ball into. He put the ball about 6 inches away. Alex went and moved the ball right next to the cup and hit it in every time. He was so proud of himself!:)

Church Easter Egg Hunt and Baby News

Wednesday before Easter we had our church Easter Egg Hunt. It was our first year there and so I wasn't sure what to expect. BUT it was great!! The Easter Bunny was there to take pictures with, there were carnival like games to win candy at, an inflatable jumpy house, and then the hunt with prize eggs to be found. Alex wasn't so sure about the Easter Bunny. He finally walked up there clutching my hand after we had watched a few other kids get their pics made. He sat down but never smiled and never made eye contact. There were two different hunts-one for 3 to like 6 yr olds (I think) and then one for just 1 and 2 year olds. Alex did both:) Of course, the big kid one was chaos and all the eggs were gone in a matter of minutes but there was one area kind of off to the side that he could grab a few without being knocked down.

Here he is getting his hand tattoo of the Easter bunny. I wasn't sure he would care about it but he really seemed to like having it.

Alex playing ring toss at Emily's booth.

He was supposed to toss the bunnies into the little buckets. He did the first one but then he really didn't want to let go of the bunny the 2nd time around. He stood there for what seemed like forever just holding the bunny. But finally, he tossed it in!

Look closely at what is in his basket!!! :) John actually found it hidden in a cinder block brick and Alex took his time getting to it but he finally picked it up. I was so excited he got it!

During the older kids hunt.

For the 1-2 yr old hunt they filled like 5 baby pools full of shredded paper and 100 eggs each. It was a great idea and the kids could get in the pool or stand outside and dig for the eggs. I wonder if all of the eggs were found because there were a TON in the pool.

Turning in his prize egg for the "real" prize!

With his prize egg and Jack Glyien.

His cousin, Abbie, also found a prize egg.:)

Baby News: Sorry! Still no name. (I know that is what some of you were secretly hoping for!:)) I will be 31 weeks on Wednesday and I'm definitely hitting the uncomfortable stage when it comes to sitting and going to bed. She seems to be moving all the time, but then so did Alex, and I remember thinking and being a bit nervous he was going to be a wild ADD child!:) I will have a C-section on June 17th. That is about a week before my due date so technically we only have about 8 wks left. We have her bedding but nothing on her walls, hopefully that will come soon...maybe when we have a name:). 8 weeks seems so far away but then it seems so close!

The BIG 2-9

John, unfortunately, was on call for my birthday so his parents had us over for dinner that night. Emily had made cupcakes and Alex got to ice them and put the sprinkles on. He loved it because then he put his finger in almost every cupcake to taste the icing.:) Thanks for having us over and for my yummy birthday cakes!!

Alex loves to pretend he is asleep and for you to wake him up-he even pretend snores. Alex said, "1,2,3, Wake up (or Look at)Daddy!" one morning when he woke John up. So that is how he wants to be woken up also. We weren't sure where it came from and then I realized in one video of the Wiggles that they wake Jeff up by counting to 3 and then yelling at him. He did this a TON at Papa and Grammy's house that night and now he pretty much does it anytime he can lay down. He will say, "wake me up momma, wake me up." Here he is "pretend" sleeping with Bella (she is not pretending though).
