Avery Kate

Avery Kate arrived Wednesday, June 17th at 9:46 am. She weighed 7lbs and was 19 3/4 inches long. She has brown hair and blue eyes and looks alot like Alex's baby picture. They definitely have the same nose-as many people have pointed out:) Her big brother, Alex, loves her! When we were still in the hospital he would come in the room looking for her and immediately want to hold her. It was so sweet! When she cries, he'll take her hand and say, "It's ok Avery, I here." He loves to kiss on her and give her hugs. He'll bring her a bear or a toy when she is fussing and he just looks at her like, "ok, that should fix your problem you shouldn't be fussing anymore:)."

Waiting for her to arrive.

Here she is!

Alex seeing her for the first time.

Doing a little Jennifer Beal "Flashdance" impersonation with her off the shoulder sleeper:).

Being held by Nanny and...

Granddan and Mimi and...

Great-Grandaddy.

Alex's friend, Caden, came to the hospital. They had a good time "playing trains!"

Alex and Avery with their grandmothers.

Being held again by Great Uncle David and Great Aunt Kristy and...

Papa and Grammy and...

Grandaddy and Dar Dar and...

Uncle Parker and...

Uncle Russell and Aunt Nan.

Here she is in her daygown that my mom made for her and she is laying on her blanket that Mimi made for her. She looked so precious-even if it was just for the short ride home:)

Finally coming home!

5 days left...

and we are trying to fit in ALOT of fun stuff! Alex's baby sister will be here next Wednesday by c-section at 9:30am-IF nothing happens before then-but things are good so far. I am trying to do as much with him as possible, especially outside stuff that we can't do with a newborn in 90 degree heat.

We went with Caden and Olivia to a little splash park. He had so much fun running around in the water. He is the one with the white floppy hat. Yes, I know he looks silly but it covers his little white sensitive face and head up so well and he doesn't care at all what he has on! I will try to find him something better that looks more like a little boy one day:) Here he is with Olivia.

and Caden.

Caden brought this elephant toy and he had to have it. This little girl came up to him and he kind of tucked it to the side and leaned in real close to her. I could almost hear him say, "Don't take another step. You are not getting this elephant."

We went to the Miller's for a little pool party last Friday. All the kids had a blast. Mr. George got this awesome bed swing for his birthday and the kids loved it!

I got him this new lifejacket/swimsuit for Friday night since John and I wouldn't be getting in with him. Doesn't he look like Mr. Incredible? When he first tried it on at home he came and gave me a big hug and said, "thank you so much mama!" It was so sweet.

He didn't want to get out. He was shaking and his lips were turning blue because it was a little cool and it was pitch black but he stayed in as long as he could.

Swimming at Caden's with Alec!

Olivia was not gonna be left out! She crawled right in the float and sat on top of Alex:).

We went over and ate lunch with Granddan for his 85th birthday!

We went to the free movies for kids Wednesday and Thursday this week. He loved it! He sits on the booster seat and eats his snacks and watches the whole thing pretty well. Wednesday, he would turn to me and yell the lines back to me-I think he was pretty excited. I also think he may be a "movie line quoter." Here he is with Clayton on Thursday after watching "The Barnyard."

Here he is with Caden eating snacks before "Open Season."

I'll leave you with two songs by a pretty awesome singer! The first is "Twinkle twinkle little star" and the second is "Jesus loves me." He was belting out his own rendition while eating breakfast the other morning so I had to catch it on video:).

My shower weekend!

I had a shower the weekend of Memorial Day. My parents came in and we got together with John's parents for dinner Saturday night.

Alex with Papa and Grandaddy.

With Grammy and Dar Dar.

Making muffins with Dar Dar.

Coloring with a Q-tip.

I had the best shower! Thank you so much to all the ladies at church who hosted it. I didn't realize all of the fun stuff a girl would get:) It didn't hit me until I walked in and saw the pink booties on top of the cake and now that everything is put away all the little pink dresses and bubbles that are hanging in there-it's like getting to dress a doll:). This is one of the things my mom gave me. It's a dress she and I both wore. She also gave me a blue dress that my aunt had given me and a handkerchief bonnet she made that the baby girl can also use as a handkerchief at her wedding. Almost made me cry!

Grammy made this doll for her. Pretty neat huh? She says she will put a mouth on it when we give the baby a name:)

Mamaw, Emily, me, mom, and Mimi.

Grammy gave Alex a new train since baby sister got so many gifts. It's "Bully" aka Billy. He just woke up from a nap so he doesn't look very excited.

As we were walking my parents out Alex said he "needed to ride." He wanted to sit in the front by himself so Grandaddy took him around.:)

The next morning Alex got his baby sister's doll and said she was "stinky poo" and we had to change her diaper. He layed down with her while we "changed" her.

What we've been up to...

At the park with Jack Glyien.

Mimi (great-grandmother) made Alex this hat. He wore it when he first came home from the hospital. NOW-at almost 2 1/2yrs-it fits him really well!:) He loves climbing in his baby sister's car seat. We did a re-enactment of what he looked like when he came home from the hospital. Compare it to the picture below this one where he looks like a genie:).

He hit a home run! He loves playing baseball-in the house!

Some nice construction guys let him play on the bulldozer.

Last day of Kindermusik. All the kids got to play different instruments.

Check out the video below. They were butterflies. They were supposed to fly high when the music notes went high and go low to the ground when the notes went lower.
