Christmas with Nanny and Great-Grandaddy

We had our Christmas with Nanny and Great-Grandaddy, December 22nd, at Jimmy and Emily's house. We had a yummy dinner and then had fun opening presents! It was killing the kids to have to visit and eat before present time, but they did pretty well. Just every other sentence was, "Is it time to open presents?" We don't get to see Nanny and Great-Grandaddy much so it's always special to see them and celebrate Christmas.
Alex was pretending to be Bella or Spot (not sure which, because he has all kinds of "dog" names) and he was loving on Kristy. She was playing right along and thought it was hilarious!
He was "spying." He was lurking around the chairs in the living room, don't know why:).
Still spying...
Nanny and GGDaddy gave him a video camera. He loves it! He records and take pictures of everything!
Avery got a storytime Leapfrog and loves to play with it!
She also thinks she is a big girl with her "camera" too.
Showing Grammy her presents.
We had a great night, but we missed Parker!

The Beach in December

Anytime we can go to the beach we are excited! I don't care if it's cold or hot-and actually cooler weather is great because there are no crowds! John took a day off and we headed down with his parents the Friday before the Christmas weekend. The kids were so excited because they were going to get to sleep in the same room together:). The weather wasn't too cold and Emily and the kids even got in the ocean a little. Avery enjoyed cleaning out the closet on the balcony. She took everything out and was so content placing it down on the balcony.
Still cleaning...
Playing at Lulu's!
Yes, both my kids have on their underwear and no shorts-you can talk to their Grammy about that.
Jimmy and Alex tried to fly a kite. It was windy but it just wasn't staying up!:(
Alex was playing Grammy's phone and visiting in the bathroom as she was getting ready. He is too funny!
The Go-Carts were open so we hung out there one morning. The kids loved riding and all of us racing each other. And they also got to ride the other rides at the track.
Ready for her go-cart ride.
These fish are the prize she got with her tickets.
At Lousiana Lagniappe. YUM!
Papa is an early bird and so are my kids (especially when they sleep together and wake each other up) so it was wonderful when he would take them out for morning excursions. They went to Krispy Kreme, Tacky Jacks and the store with the shark and octopus. They had so much fun and we got sleep in! Thanks Papa!
They were so sweet! You could hear her say, "Alex!" When she was yelling whispering each night. They loved waking up together and playing or watching tv in their room.

Jenny's pictures

The Monday before Thanksgiving I took the kids to Tanniehill State Park to meet Jenny, a friend from Birmingham, to take their pictures. The kids did awesome! I told them Ms. Jenny was the boss and that got thrown back in my face a couple of times. "Well, Mom, you said Ms. Jenny was the boss and she said we could go up on that big rock to take our picture" stuff like that.:) Here is just a few of our favorites! If you are in the Birmingham/Tuscaloosa area her website is jennymo.com-she is AWESOME!

It's beginning to look a lot like...

Christmas! I love decorating for Christmas and so far my kids seem too also! They love all of the nutcrackers that we have and they love it when I put the nutcrackers where they can be easily reached. We got off to a slow start with decorating (because of my class), but finally got it all put up. It takes a lot longer with kids because they want to check it all out, play with it, and then go find something else to pull out of the box. But I love it!
Avery loved setting up the nutcrackers like they were marching around the coffee table.
Look who we found hiding in our tree! Wilson came back!
Of course, I didn't expect while decorating the tree to not have a little meltdown from Avery over an ornament. I think Alex took one she wanted to hang! Poor girl!:(
Grammy and Papa brought some new ornaments over.
Wilson has already been a little naughty. One night he wanted to play with Alex's McQueen remote control car. Alex couldn't believe that he "didn't even hear him playing with it.":)
We made cookies one night and the kids decorated them with icing and A LOT of sprinkles. I just assumed Alex was "sprinkling" the sprinkles only to look over and see a huge clump of them on his cookie.
Same thing with Avery:). She wanted an A on her cookie for Avery she told me.
Sweet kids!
