Fun September Days...

Papaw and the kids.
Alex got this at school one day from the treasure chest-where he gets to go when he gets 10 smiley faces, aka, 10 good days at school. He kept saying, "I'm an old man! Look Mama!" They both had a dentist appointment that day. So, yes, that is what he said in the dentist office. He had all the hygenists laughing!:)
He held her hand and told her everything that was going on. He is so sweet to her! She had a "drop dead" look on her face the whole time, but never cried or got upset. This was her first experience in the chair and with the electric brush.
What in the world? After gymnastics we go eat with Chanda and Henley. This was the girls one day at lunch.
Alex and Henley tailgating before the Florida Atlantic game. She brought him a rock from her walk on the quad. I must say, she knows what he likes:).
Avery and I have been going to story time at the library with a friend down the street. She seems to really like it! They read 3 books and then do an activity and/or have bubbles. Today was bubbles!
She also likes to go play games on the library computers.
And this day she made a fall wreath.
Amanda and I took Ella and Avery and headed to Birmingham for a day of shopping! We left about 8am and returned about 9pm. It was a full, fun day! The girls had a great time shopping. They fight one minute and are sweet to each other the next minute-definitely crazy girls!
After a late dinner and a long car ride home-we definitely wore them out.

Melanie's visit!

I love when this girl comes to town! I didn't get many pictures this time...I'm not sure why! I am trying to be more in the moment these days and not take pictures of everything so I guess this is when that started:) Melanie came to visit from Florida the last weekend of September, this time with no kids. We did our usual things Nick at noon, shopping all day and then Saturday we tried to hang out some, but there was just always something to do or someone to see-which is a good thing! As always, we had the best time!!

At Nick at Noon...we sat with some of John's partners so we couldn't be too crazy...
Shopping at Charming Charlies...
Trying on clothes at Target...
and...taking them off....ha!
Before the Ole Miss game we headed to Moe's for some yummy BBQ! Notice Avery with her head turn and eye cut.
Saturday, Tim and April, friends from Birmingham, came to visit. I haven't seen them in about a year and it had been even longer for Melanie. It was good to catch up with them! Melanie's parents, Nanny, cousin, brother and sister in law were also at the game. Once again, no picture of that...but it was good seeing them!

Gone fishin'!

We went on our annual fishing trip again. We would really like to make it more than an annual trip, and always talk about doing it more, but never can find the time:( The kids have the best time fishing, eating, and riding around!

They were all in to fishing at first and they were all catching fish like crazy!

I love this!
Avery was so into the fish!

I think she's trying to make a fish face here:).
Chase fishing...he looks like such a pro!
Elise fishing...
Sweet boys-John William and Alex.
John William and his fish.
Loving snacktime! The kids went with John to pick out snacks...of course, he let them pick out whatever they wanted! So we had lots of junk food!
They were ready for a ride with Dr. Summerford. So glad he lets us come play on his farm!

Avery, less than 5 minutes after we pulled out of the drive to head home.

Soccer time!

Avery is old enough to play soccer this year and she is loving it! She plays every Thursday, but they are really more like practices. Thankfully, she doesn't know the difference, unless Alex tells her.

She is in a group with Ella and Ella:).
She loves the red jersey and wearing her pink shinguards, pink cleats, and kicking her pink ball.
If her pony tail falls out while she is playing she will say, "Mama, it's ok, I just put it around my wrist so I won't lose it."

On Thursdays, she practices from 5-5:45 and then Alex has a game at 6:30. He is on a team with Jack Glyien and Anderson, two boys from last year. He really likes playing and is really getting into it-I'm impressed! He scored two goals in his first game! Woo hoo!
Jack Glyien and Alex.
My soccer boy!
They were so funny-they would huddle up and then yell "break!"
Cool girl!

Alex in Arkansas?

Well, from the pictures I took it only looks like Alex made it to Arkansas. I did get one picture with him in the back of the car...but that's it. Even though there is an absent of pictures we all (Jimmy, Emily, and John too!) had a great time! We stayed in Little Rock and then drove over to Fayetteville for the game on Saturday. It rained pretty much the entire time. We had our ponchos on the whole time and Alex ate the whole time. He had everything the stadium had to offer:)

Thankfully, he is a good car traveler...he watched movies, played his leappad, grammy's ipad, and my phone. He got a little wired having everyone's attention on him, but I know he had a great time!
We stayed at the Peabody, but just saw the ducks in their glass room:( Sunday morning when we left the hotel, after seeing the ducks, Alex pretended we were ducks all the way back to Tuscaloosa. He's crazy!
