What we've been up to lately

I feel like I haven't posted in forever. Here are some pictures from what's been going on here lately in no certain order. First off, we closed on our Birmingham house last Tuesday! We are so thankful to only have one house to worry about now and with the way the market is we think we got out ok.

My parents came down last weekend while John and I went with his parents to the Georgia/AL game. Roll Tide! Alex could have cared less that we were gone (or that we came back for that matter). Here he is riding in Grandaddy's convertible. His face is just so sweet in this picture.

My mom made him this outfit that he wore to church Sunday. I love it!

Alex reading with mommadar aka "Dar Dar" and Grandaddy aka "nenny" on his new blanket with dogs all over it.

The other night I started his bath water and left to go get some Q-tips out of my bathroom. Alex was playing in his playroom. When I walked back in this is what I saw. Notice he still has his diaper and shorts on!! Actually, he was belly down but by the time I got my camera he had changed positions.

Last Tuesday we went for a dentist's visit. There is a mom's club in town that we sometimes do things with and a group went for a visit to Dr. Burgess's office. Alex loved playing with the dog and brushing his teeth, but he wouldn't sit in the chair.

This was Alex one morning by our bed. Every book now is the "bible" and he set these pillows up and was reading the "bible." It's actually just a book I am reading for fun.

We went to see John at his office last Wednesday. Alex saw there was some candy on his desk and picked out a grape blow pop. Alex was running in place because he was so excited as I opened it. This was him in the car on the way home. It doesn't do the mess justice. I guess he ate the gum because I never saw it.

At Dr. Phillips office last Friday they weighed him on the scales. They were right out side of our door and he kept going in the hall to stand on the scales. He now weighs 33lbs. He has gained 3lbs since July and is off the charts in his weight.

Alex laying in Mimi's lap as she sings to him. He was so tired!

We played last week at our friend Ally and Caden's house. All the kids were so good. They ALL sat at the table and ate their food.

Robin, (Bebo's wife) and their son, Thomas, came to hang out one afternoon when they were in town. Here is Alex with Thomas. They were so cute together!

This is Alex during the Tulane/AL football game. He wanted to watch Elmo and of course we were watching the game so we set up his DVD player and gave him a plate of chips. He LOVED it!

One day for lunch he wanted Mickey to sit with him. Notice Mickey is in Alex's seat. Alex fed Mickey and gave him his milk. He is big into that now. He always shares his food, blanket, paci, drink with anything and anyone whether it be a stranger or a stuffed animal.

He loves to swiffer! Anytime I have it out he has to "help."

At Target, he couldn't decide what trick or treat bag he liked so he got them all!

Trying on a witch's hat.

Louis and Martha's Visit

Great-Granddaddy's brother, Louis, and his wife, Martha, came to visit from California. We all went over there last Tuesday to eat dinner with them and get some "visitin'" time in. :)

Here's Uncle Parker letting Alex play with the breakable things at Nanny and Great-Grandaddy's house.

Nanny and Great-Grandaddy dancing with Alex

They had this stuffed dog for him to play with and he kept taking it to "feed" it the real dog's food.

This was Alex walking around the kitchen after he was stuffed with cake. He kept saying, "ohh, ohh."

Kissing Martha and Louis bye bye!

Kindermusik and Numbers

The video below is of Alex dancing in Kindermusik. It is so cute! You have to watch until the very end to see his booty shakin' move! He is definitely my little white boy. Sorry the video isnt't the best...I was trying to stay out of the way of the dancing toddlers.

Below is a video of Alex saying his favorite number "TWO!" I really do think he knows what it means to some extent. When he has something in each hand (usually a type of ball) he will look up and say "two." His daddy taught him this new word:) But any time you ask him a question starting with "how many..." he says "two!" No matter what! We are working on three because that is his number of boo boo's this week. Two on his head and one on his nose. I think he gets a little embarrassed during this video. He won't look up and he kind of stops talking at the end of it and just says "mmmm....no." Enjoy! (FYI: Star Jackson is an Alabama football player.)

Playdate at our house and Jeff

This picture was too cute to pass up. Last Friday night, John's friend ,Jeff, and his wife, Crystal, dropped by to visit. Alex showed off the minute they knocked on the door. He was showing Crystal how he could throw his "futball" and he wanted Jeff to read to him. Jeff sat on the couch and Alex ran and got a book, brought it to Jeff, said "up," crawled up beside Jeff and just sat there like "ok, I'm ready for you to read to me." It was the sweetest thing ever! What makes it even funnier is Jeff is a 4th grade (I think) teacher. It was like Alex knew he knew how to read to kids. :)

We had some friends over last Monday for a little swimming get together. It was a lot of fun. They played outside until the fire ants got to be too much (more on ants later) and then we had PB&J sandwiches for the kids and taco salads for the moms.
Here is Alex, Alec (born on the same day as Alex), Jack, and Olivia in the pool. It was hard to get one picture with all of the kids since there were 6 of them running around. Alex liked having everyone at his house but he did not like sharing all of his toys. He thought if it was technically his he should be able to grab it whenever he wanted. Him and Caden always wanted each other's toys.

ROLL TIDE!

Last Saturday, Alex went to his first ever Alabama Football game! He stayed through the whole game and I'm pretty sure he had a really good time. He got himself a hotdog, drank about 2 whole bottles of water, and he had his shaker. What more could he want? He would be drinking from his sippy cup and when everyone clapped he would put it on the ground and stand up and clap and then reach back down and get it. He sat about the first 5 minutes and then hardly sat after that. He would just walk back and forth from me to John.

This is him before the game at Mimi's house (where we park). My mom made his pants and we got many compliments on them. They have little white elephants on them. They are so cute on him!

Cheering with Grammy

Me and Alex outside the stadium.

He was so tired after the game. He fell asleep before we even got home. The week before the game we had been practicing saying "roll tide." He would hold the shaker and move it in circles and say "rooolll" but would never say tide. He hasn't ever put two words together before, so I wasn't hoping for much. Sunday on the way home from church we were going to eat and he had his shaker. I was saying "Roll Tide" and he said it! :) It was so cute! He has said it a few more times since then but of course won't really say it on demand. I need to try to get it on video. John and I were talking about how that may be his first two word combination. He has said what sounds like "Go Dogs Go" before, which is the title of a book, but we are not 100% sure and he says that at very random times. NOT when we are reading the book. :)

What we've been up to lately

We met some friends at CHOM on Friday. Here are Livi and Alex checking out the frogs.

Playing with Parker (Ally's cousin from Baton Rouge-their power was out so they came to stay for a few days)

Friday night we went to eat at the Williams. They have a little boy, Jack Glyien (pronounced Glenn), who is too cute. Of course, the boys didn't really "play" together but they were fun to watch. Jack Glyien wanted me to hold him a few times and Alex didn't like it at all. Alex kept pointing to the floor for me to put JG down. He's never really cared about me holding other babies before so this was a first.
Justin taught Alex how to give him a fist bump.:)

This is Alex watching Sesame Street every morning while I'm taking a shower. He loves to waller (I don't know any other word for all of the moving around he does) in our bed. And he usually will crawl under our covers.

Friday I made another pound cake (for those of you who are counting that is two in about a two week period.) Alex LOVED licking the beaters! He would stick his tongue out and then let me slide the beater down so he could get all of the cake mix.

Just to keep you updated he is also saying ball, which sounds alot like baaww. He used to call a ball (among other things) "da" so this is a HUGE improvement! :) He's been doing this for about a week. He is also in the stage where he will say what you ask him to say (usually). He will say Papa (John's dad) and he says Mamaw and Papaw (John's grandparents) pretty well too. He is saying most anything we ask him to say. EXCEPT sometimes he just says "No."

Playing at the park

Going down the slide with Alec

Going up with Olivia

All of the kids

Playing chase with Caden (I love his face in this one)

Rounding the corner

Friday our playgroup went to a park here in town. The park was really nice but it was soo hot! Alex had a good time playing! Alec, the little boy in the picture, has the same birthday as Alex. They were too cute together. When we would call one of their names the other one would ALWAYS turn around. Alex got in trouble a lot that day because he kept trying to go up the slides backwards while all of the other kids were trying to come down.:) I couldn't figure out why he kept doing that! He wouldn't even sit down and eat lunch because he was too busy playing.
