Alex's first day of school!

His first day of kindergarten was Monday, August 20th. Avery and I took him to school and walked him in to his classroom. He was such a big boy! He did give me a hug and kiss before I left. There were no tears cried (by anyone:)).

Alex and Ford outside of school.
Ford, Miles, Alex, and Anderson. Alex said that morning that he didn't want to wear a nice shirt (to him that means anything but a t-shirt) to school. I told him it was the first day and he was going to look nice and then he could wear his t-shirts. I told him his friends would also have on nice shirts. Thank goodness they did!
After school, we went to McDonald's with Ella, Miles, Anderson, and Jonas for some icecream. I oould tell he was tired when he walked out of school, but he was also so full of energy! He said he had a great first day!

A visit from DarDar and Grandaddy before school starts!

Mom and Dad came in for us to go to Alabama Adventures in Birmingham before Alex started school. We had a great weekend!

It was rainy on Friday so we headed to CHOM. My kids love CHOM. I thought Alex would be tired of it by now, but he's not. They still ask to go all the time.
Avery loves to dress up there!

We went to jim n nicks for lunch.

and had Mexican for dinner! YUM!

Then on Saturday we headed to Alabama Adventures, I think now it is actually called Splash Adventures because it is just a water park. They had to show off their towels first. Who doesn't love Jake and the never land pirates?
Or Disney princesses?
It got a little cold and sprinkled a little but the kids didn't mind, of course. Alex rode all the rides he was tall enough for and had a blast!
Ready to head home with their icees! Thanks for a fun weekend Mom and Dad!

Henley's birthday party

Sunday we went to a little princess party for Henley. She was sick for her real birthday party so this one was a little late. The girls made bracelets, decorated visors, ate snacks and cake, and then went swimming. Avery had the best time with her BFF:).

How beautiful are these girls??!

Avery's visor.
OH MY...she was in heaven-dress up clothes, jewelry, tiaras!
Sweet friends!

Elly's visit

Elly and her mama, Lang, came to visit us from Florida the week before school started.

They, of course, had to dress up!

One night, Lang and I took them to dinner and then to Barnes and Noble. They had the best time playing on the stage and performing for us.
Taking their bow!

Six Flags over Georgia

Avery and Grammy headed in! Me, Jimmy, and Emily went over one Tuesday to take the kids to Six Flags! They were so excited! They got up a few times that night and were up bright and early the next day.

I told Alex he really needed to ride every ride and then he could decide if he never wanted to ride it again.:) I only had to bribe him once...I told him he could play a game if he rode the Dare Devil. He rode it and in the very front! His first ride was the Georgia Cyclone...it was a little too rough...wish we hadn't done it first, but he did really well and we rode everything he was tall enough for.

I used to love this ride at Opryland. The kids had a blast driving us! We probably spent more time there than Jimmy would have liked but there is something a kid loves about driving a car:).

Yes, I rode by myself-TWICE-see them sitting up ahead?

Avery really wanted to ride the skybuckets. I was by myself again!:)

We were ready to leave the park and enjoying a quick snack of ice cream and cotton candy. It was a great day! It was hot, but there was a high chance of rain all day so the crowds were low. Thankfully, the rain held off until 5:30 and the park closed at 6.
We had a fun day!
