Avery at 15 months

I'm really backtracking but I never put in her 15 month check up info so here goes...August 1st is the day we are saying that Avery started walking. It was the first day that when you heard her come in to the room you knew she was walking and not crawling. It was two weeks before she turned 14 months. She is such a big girl! Her stats at her 15 month check up (September 17th) were 24.2 lbs and 31 inches tall. She's usually 50th percentile in weight and 75th in height. She is not talking yet, but definitely gets her point across when communicating. She will point to things and grunt or say, "hmmm." You know without a shadow of a doubt what she is saying with that grunt. She loves watching Alex and loves to do and try everything he is doing. Whether it is eating, drinking, playing, climbing, etc. If he gets himself a drink of water she will walk over, get a cup from the drawer, and try to do the same. I have to remember to lock the water on the refrigerator. One thing she learned before Alex...how to blow her nose! It was amazing! One day (10/14 to be exact) she was just blowing her nose on everything-my shirt, a tissue, a dish towel, you name it. That's a big accomplishment in our house and I was so proud of her! She loves bananas, oranges, muffins, books, getting q-tips from my bathroom drawer, dancing, dressing up, clothes, shoes, brushing her hair and dogs. She will get mad at me if I don't put on a certain pair of shoes for her or a coat(keep in mind it was still 80 degrees here when she was 15 months). She loves her pretty things! She will throw a tantrum and just lay down on the ground and cry when we are at home and she doesn't get to put on what she wants or if she wants a toy Alex is playing with. She is very sweet to him but will snatch a toy away from him and jerk/pull her arms in when he reaches for it. It is very comical, at least now!:) We know we will have our hands full with her and her demanding ways!:) BUT she also has THE sweetest smile and most beautiful blue eyes and I know they will keep her out of trouble (at least in our house)!

Beau and the Braves

September 10th we took Alex to a Braves baseball game. We met up with Brian and Alicia, minus Luke, her baby boy, and Avery. Thanks Brian for getting us the tickets and awesome parking pass! Alex was so excited, to say the least, but the trip got a little long for him. We stopped to do a little shopping in Birmingham and when we got out of the car Alex said, "Are we in California yet?" Must have felt like a really long trip for him. I saw more of Turner field than I ever had. We had never been to the part where kids can run the bases. Alex was so excited to be there with Beau and even more excited to be able to run bases and play baseball on his own little field. We hardly even watched the game-ha!.

Beau and Alex running to the game.
I had to get a picture of Tom Glavine. He was being mobbed by fans so I just took a quick shot.

Sweet boys waiting to run the bases.

Hard to see, but this is Alex running down the third base line.
A quick shot of them watching the game.

Beau looks just like his daddy!

He kept pretending to hit the ball out of Mickey's hand-that is why he looks so crazy.

Have you ever watched the Next Food Network Star? If you have, then you know Herb Mesa! We were walking through and I saw this guy sitting down talking on his cell. I looked at John and said, "Guess what? That is Herb from the NFNS!" We don't usually talk to people who are famous or whatever (the few we have seen in public) but John said hey and then I went back to get my picture made with him. Thanks Alicia for being brave and going with me:). He took us into his suite where we met his daughters and he had some guy take a photo of us to put on his facebook page. It was so exciting! He was super nice and was just shocked that we wanted a picture with him.

Leaving the game with Daddy.

September Fun Days!

We go to the tumblebus every Wednesday that we are in town. We usually have lunch with Caden (and whatever other friends can join us) and then head on over. It never fails that every time the kids come off the bus they head for Mr. Eric's truck. He is Brenner and Breanna's dad and all the kids love the "party truck" and want to go jump in it for a few minutes.
Alex and Big Al. He seriously thinks they are best friends. It is so cute! He is in the Big Al Kids club and they have events before sporting events where Big Al is there and an inflatable to jump in. We went to one before a volleyball game and while we were still in the parking lot Alex was yelling, "Hey, Big Al, Hey, I'm over here!" It was precious!

Out at the park with Caden.

She loves to swing!

Caden wore her princess dress and Avery had to try it on.

Avery likes to play in Alex's room a lot. One day I peeked in and she was on his bean bag reading a book. She used to not like to sit and read books at all but that changed just a couple of months ago, thank goodness.

Alex playing baseball on the wii. He loves it and that is an understatement.

Boxing-it is so funny to watch him do this. I say he gets a good cardio workout. Avery always tries to join in when he's playing too.

She had to have this doll sit by her at breakfast one day. So funny!

We had a baby shower for my friend, Jennifer, and here are all of the hostesses with her. I met these girls when I first moved to Tuscaloosa and we have had playdates of some sort ever since. So glad I met them!

Avery loved checking on Brynn at the shower. She couldn't stop leaning over and looking at her.

Uncle Russell bought him some Bama eye black for a gift one day when he was down here. Alex loves all things football so this was a big hit!
The last few weeks when I ask Alex what he wants for breakfast he will say, "I want something I've never had before." So I have bought different cereals(no such luck) and I was running out of options one morning and I said, "how about green eggs and ham?" He agreed and he loved them! One morning, because I'm so tired of him not deciding what he wants, I said, "Alex, you have two choices, waffles or cheerios, which one do you want?" He said, I don't know Mama, surpise me." Avery loves cheerios so I thought, fine, they can both have cheerios. When he sat down he said, "Mama, I wanted you to surpise me with waffles." We then had to have a talk about what it means to surprise someone.:)

Alex and I ready to leave for the first football game. Roll Tide!
