The Barnyard

Alex loves the barnyard! Ally called in early March and they had some new baby animals so we decided to go one Friday. He has so much fun feeding, petting, and riding the animals.

Avery and I are waiting for everyone to get back from their boat ride. Alex said, "Can we go ride on the ocean?" I had to remind him it was called a pond:) Alec didn't want to ride Trigger at first but finally he did! Sweet Friends! Alec and Alex looking for eggs. Alec, Caden, and Alex. Mrs. Cami runs/owns the barnyard and she is always so great with the kids. We were pretty much the only ones there so she hung out with the kids and did anything they wanted. Feeding the new baby pig, Bambi. Looking at the baby bunnies. I'm not much of an animal person but they sure were cute! The baby lamb, Bama. How sweet is that? It was neat to hear her. One of the baby ducks that Mrs. Cami had in her house in the bathtub! I'm so thankful there is a place where my kids will be able to see animals like this and hold them and feed them if they want. God bless Mrs.Cami because I would never have ducks in my house!:).
Like piggys do...

Avery is 9 months old!

She's growing up so fast and so much has happened in the last 3 months. She weighed 20.3 lbs and was in the 75th percentile for weight. She is 28 1/2 inches long and is just over the 75th percentile for height. She has two teeth coming in at the bottom, she is crawling and just now starting to pull up in the last few days. She has eaten some "real" food and we are working on a sippy cup. She loves fruit and puffs, but not green vegetables and the third foods with bits of food in it. She'll eat it for awhile but then start to spit or grunt She says "dada" some and "mama" when she's fussing about something. She is a happy baby who is usually just crawling around the house trying to find me and Alex. She is always smiling and giggling. She especially likes to giggle and smile at Alex. :) She hates to have her face cleaned off after meals and to have her nose wiped. She squirms so much! Getting her dressed and changing her diaper are always a chore.

She will put it in her mouth but won't drink from it yet.

She loves her bath! I can't get her to lay down and be still so I can wash her anymore.
Happy Easter!

She is starting to like the train table as much as Alex these days.
<
I was cleaning out her closet one day and she was having so much fun playing with all these hangers.

Crawling...

Bath time...

Chair moving...she started doing this one day after breakfast and did it forever!

Dar Dar and Grandaddy coming to see a soccer game...

But it got rained out:(. My parents came down for a short weekend to see Alex play soccer on Monday and can you believe it that as we were getting dressed the coach called and said it was cancelled. I felt terrible! But we still had good times. Dar Dar made her yummy muffins (that only her and Alex like), we ate at the restaurant with the funny chicken feet (aka, Waltons) as Alex calls it, we played baseball at the park, and we went to Yogurt Mountain. Alex was very upset that there was no mountain to climb, but was ok when he got red (his favorite color) yogurt.

No, thank goodness, Avery didn't fall off the swing...she just looked like it...

We are so proud!

At the end of February, we were told that Papa was going to receive a special award, so we all went to see him get it:) It was a Lifetime Achievement Award given to him by the Chamber of Commerce. We are so proud of him! He is a great Papa to Alex and Avery and will drop everything to do whatever they need or want to do. Alex and Avery did great during the 2 hour ceremony in which they had to be quiet the whole time. Of course, Papa was the very. last. person. to receive his award. Avery was crawling on the floor under our chairs by the end of it and Alex was ready for bed as you can see in the picture:) Congratulations Papa, we love you!
