The Zoo with the McLeod's!

In early May we went to the Birmingham Zoo with our friends Miller, Riggs, and their mom, Holli. We had a great time! We hadn't seen them since I was pregnant with Avery(almost a year) so we had a lot of catching up to do:) Riggs and Miller are about 3 months younger than Alex and they play well together. Avery didn't get to go-it was way too hot and she would have wanted to crawl all over the concrete. She'll get her chance one day!

Alex and I rode the camel. Quickest money I ever spent...$11 in two minutes. Holli-this is the best picture of all of the ones you took...they were all blurry:(

Sweet hugs while waiting for the train:)

They had fun playing in the Foam Zone!

Digging for dinosaur bones.

This was the first time I didn't ride the carousel with him:(

He loved holding this butterfly. He didn't want to give it up when another little boy wanted to hold it. He was being so careful!

If you look closely there is a butterfly on my left leg...sorry for the dirty toes:)

Grandaddy and Dar Dar's visit

Mom and Dad came a day or two early on their way to a cruise they were leaving on out of Mobile in early May. It was fun to get to hang out with them, as usual! It's nice having live in babysitters if only for 2-3 nights at a time:) We played outside for a little bit and Dad had to fix the height of Alex's bike. He is getting really good at pedaling it!

The look on her face and the way she has her hand is too funny to me! She looks so girly.

We also went down to the River walk and ate lunch and walked and played.

Playing football with grandaddy.

Avery has a new tooth that is coming in and she is drooling all the time!

Alex took the next two pics...interesting to see his view:)

We also went to the fountains at a park. Alex loves it and it is something free on a hot day. Avery wasn't too sure about the water at first (I realized at this time she had never been in a pool since she was old enough to be aware of it) so it was a new experience for her. But she warmed up and was soon crawling all over the place and trying to eat the twigs and leaves that dropped from the trees.

The boy loves the water!

Gymnastics!

Alex will be starting gymnastics in June for a couple of months. He went with Caden to a "bring a friend" class and loved it! My pictures weren't too great but this video is priceless- you have to watch it! He is jumping down a trampoline and then at the end he does a forward roll (Caden is in front of him), but watch what happens at the end of the trampoline jump. And then at the end you can hear Caden say, "Alex is here!" I could watch this video 10 times and still laugh everytime! Hopefully, Alex won't be mad at me for this one day:)

April and Ally's shower

The end of April we had a shower for April (due in May-she's already had Brynn since the shower and this posting) and Ally (due in July with baby girl LGC-only the initials...we don't know a name yet) at my house. It was so much fun having everybody together! And I think the girls got a lot of good stuff!

Our friend Jennifer made these for April. Cute aren't they?

Ally went to LSU and is from Louisiana. She had a friend send her this for Caden (the big sis) and a dress for the new baby girl. I can't believe I had this LSU stuff in my house!:)

I can't remember who was cutting the cake but they cut the BIGGEST pieces ever! This is April and Ally's pieces:)

April and big bro, Alec.

Ally waiting to open presents!

After the shower, the kids came home and Avery loved the flowers out on the table. Doesn't she look pretty?

A mess in a dress...

That's what I call her...ever since she started crawling she has been into everything! She really loves toilet paper (or any type of paper for that matter, think pica, the disease where people eat paper, dirt, etc.) and she will put it in her mouth anytime she can get away with it. I've started having to shut all the bathroom doors so she doesn't happen to get in there to get the paper or dip her hand in the toilet...yes...she has done that too! Gross, right?!

I love her face in this picture!

And this one too! She just can't get it out!

When we stay home...

This is usually the stuff we do...bring the tent inside (that Aunt Nan and Uncle Russell gave us) and have a blast going through the tunnel! It took Avery a few minutes to warm up to this huge thing in our dining room but she eventually did.

After their nap we went outside to play dinosaurs and get Avery used to the grass.
