Avery's First Day of Kindermusik

Avery had her first Kindermusik class the end of January. She wasn't too excited the first class, but now she loves it! If you ask her if she wants to go to Kindermusik she shakes her head yes. She even has started doing some of the hand motions to the songs and trying to say the words. I'm glad she loves it as much as Alex did. Alex is even enjoying getting to hear the songs again that he hasn't heard in a while. And he's been able to go to a couple of classes with us and loves being the big kid!

Right before we headed out on a rainy day!

Listening to the story with Henley.

I don't think she cracked a smile the first class.

Happy Birthday Papa!

Papa's birthday was January 17th,so this is just a tad late:( We went to Papaw's to celebrate and eat hamburgers and hotdogs!

Happy birthday Papa! We love you!

Avery brought in pillows and they thought they were hilarious "sleeping" in the kitchen under the table.

Avery wanted to play Alex's explorer...not sure what he was doing...because he would not normally allow this-haha!

Lots of January Fun Days!

Avery's first play date with Henley, a friend from church.

Great-grandaddy and Nanny kept them one day for me and they had to put on their costumes for them:).

At the movies with Brenner. We saw Yogi Bear in 3D.

At Brenner's 5th birthday party!

Caden and Alex. They don't get to see each other much anymore because Caden started preschool so anytime they get together they have fun!

I wanted a picture of Alex's bowling shoes and Avery thought I wanted a picture of hers too!

Avery and Paige at the bowling party.

Avery about to bowl and getting lots of help.

Alex LOVED bowling. The other kids got distracted by the games, presents, etc, but not Alex. He bowled the whole time!

I know it doesn't look like much, but here is our snow.:)

Avery in her new dress my mom made.

Avery loved Charming Charlies! Lots of things were on shelves that she could reach and she loved trying things on! Such a girl!

Avery gets very upset during grocery store visits when she has to hand things over to the check out girl to be scanned. She fusses (sometimes loudly) until she gets her item(s)back. I believe this day it was potatoes and bananas that she was very attached too. You never know what it's gonna be! And she has to hold on to it all the way home.

Loving their milkshakes at Mugshots! Avery wouldn't share at all.

Elly came to visit again. They got to go to the tumblebus together and to a movie. They always have so much fun together!

Avery loves to brush her teeth. One night I left the bathroom and went to the kitchen when I came back in the room she was in Alex's car seat with her tumblebus tattoos displayed so proudly on her legs brushing her teeth. Crazy girl!

End of Basketball and the Circus Trip!

We had Alex's last basketball game right before we headed to Birmingham for the circus. He got a cool trophy and a new soccer ball(because he already had a basketball). He had a fun season!

It was Avery's first time at the circus and I think she had a lot of fun!

We broke down and got them this $22 flashlight! YES, I said $22-how crazy is that and yes, they only got one so they had to share it!!!! AND to answer another question-YES, the flashlight got tangled up in the ladies hair in front of us the first 10 seconds Avery had it. Those spinning things should not be allowed! I had to apologize profusely to the lady and thankfully, she was very sweet about it and it didn't happen again. I was so embarrassed!

Tired kids!

Alex is 4!

The birthday boy with his birthday brownie!

We've always decorated his room the night before his birthday, but since mom and dad were here and Alex was sleeping in our room we decided to decorate the kitchen:). Doesn't he look so happy?

January 13th we went to Dr. Phillips for Alex's 4 year check up. He weighed 44 1/2 lbs which puts him in the 95th percentile. He was 43 1/2 inches tall which puts him in the 97th percentile. None of those stats were surprising to us!:) We get asked all the time if he is 5.
At Dr. Phillips office, playing his explorer, of course!

I just wanted to write down a few things that I didn't want to forget about my sweet little 4 year old boy so bear with me and know that the next part of this post is ALL ABOUT ALEX!

Alex loves Alabama sports and anything to do with them. Right now is basketball season and he pays attention to everything from the score to the cheerleaders to the dance team to what all the numbers mean on the score board. He knows who the playere are by their numbers and his favorite is Ben Eblen.

He doesn't really care what he wears yet. Sometimes, he'll say I don't want to wear that or I don't like that but that is just usually, because he doesn't want to get dressed and change out of his jersey he slept in. Yes, he still wears jerseys all the time and runs around the house in his underwear and jersey. He is still a pretty good eater-just NOT always healthy. He loves to eat hot dogs, popcorn, turkey sandwiches, kiwi, blueberries, yogurt, cinnamon rolls, cereal bars, ritz crackers and oatmeal.

He has started soccer practice and will start his 2nd year of t-ball this April. He loves playing baseball, basketball and football-in the house or outside!

It snowed on his birthday! John's office didn't open till later so we got to give Alex his birthday present.

He got the game Whackamole. It is the smaller version of hitting the animal when it pops up that used to be at Showbiz.

We just had a laid back day at home playing games because of the snow and ice. Mom and Dad left after lunch and then later that night, Grammy and Papa brought over their gift.

Trains and train tracks!

After church Sunday, when the snow started.

Pop the Pig with Grandaddy.

Playing uno with Dardar.

Alex's 4th birthday!

We celebrated Alex's 4th birthday at Chickfila, January 8th, with his friends and grandparents and a Batman theme! I think he had a ton of fun, but he kept talking about his next birthday party, like he was going to have another one on his real birth day. Hopefully, he wasn't too disappointed:).

The girls got there early to set up for the party and then the boys joined us right at party time!

Avery with her Grandmothers.

Larkin, Caden's little sister, and Mimi.

Uncle Parker and Katie. So glad he stayed in town a little longer to party with us!

Avery got a present too, from Mimi and Granddan.
Alex, Caden, Jack, and Brenner with the Cow! The cow was a big hit!

After the party, Avery started wiping down the cow and cleaning it up!:)

After the party with the grandparents.

Before I started typing this I asked Alex a few questions about his birthday-thanks Mel for this idea!

1. What was your favorite part of your birthday? Getting presents and eating cake.
2. What was your favorite present? Batman race cars!
3. What made your birthday special? Seeing the Batman cake and showing Brenner and Caden. :)

Happy Birthday, sweet boy! I love you!
