Easter Sunday

The Easter Bunny hid Alex's Easter basket in his soccer goal. The EB brought him Toy Story 2, a new red(his favorite color) toy car, a water gun, new books, candy, and a microphone (he immediately hopped up on a chair, said it was his stage, and started singing)

He found Avery's basket in a corner in the kitchen.
The Easter Bunny brought her books and candy (which she didn't get to eat).

Of course, Alex had to help her with her basket (which meant he had to see if she got anything good that he wanted)
After church we went to Jimmy and Emily's house for Easter Sunday lunch.
The oldest great-grandchild, Justin, holding the youngest great-grandchild. So sweet!

Avery loves chasing Bella around.
We also celebrated Papaw's 91st birthday! Abbie and Alex had to help him blow out his candles and then eat the icing off of them.
Alex got eye black in his Easter basket from Grammy and Papa. He hasn't asked to wear it in a while, but the first few days he wanted to wear it 24/7.

This is the only picture I got of them together. It is so hard to get two kids to look at the camera and look pleasant at the same time-is that too much to ask?
Avery hanging out with Uncle George. Playing with Abbie.
Abbie and Alex had an Easter Egg hunt after lunch. Abbie made him special "prize" eggs with money in them. She is a sweet cousin to him!
Avery had a big milestone before church on Easter Sunday. She took a few steps with the walker!! :) Hasn't really done it since but we are still working on it! Sorry-I was a little late with the camera so I just got the tail end of the walking.

Church Easter Egg Hunt

The Wednesday before Easter our Church had their Egg hunt. They have games, inflatables, food, the Easter Bunny and more. It's always a fun time! Alex and Jack Glyien had to hang around and do some of the games together. Grammy always helps run a game and Alex loves racking up on the candy!:)

At Grammy's game.

Emily, Jack Glyien's mom, trying to point them in a good direction!:)

Avery didn't know what to make of the festivities-she was wondering why she wasn't in bed!

Nashville, Tristan, and 30th birthday!

I have a nephew! Tristan Paul was born on March 23rd. He is so cute! Unfortunately, you have to look close because I didn't get a good picture of him close up. He doesn't look like he's related to Alex because of his dark skin and hair, but we love him! :) Maybe he and Avery will look like cousins-haha!
We went to Nashville the next weekend to meet Tristan and we celebrated my birthday with mom and dad. Mom surprised me by having my two favorite Nashville friends over for lunch and cake. I was so excited! I don't always get to see Mandi and Kristy as much as I would like to so it was fun to get to hang out for a while. They are both friends I have had since high school. Thanks Mom and Dad for a fun time!

I can't believe I'm 30!! Mom got me a yummy mint chocolate chip cake from Baskin Robbins. Something we don't have in Tuscaloosa!

Me, Kristy and Mandi.

Maddi was born in January. I hadn't seen her yet so I was glad she got to come!

We promised Alex a trip to the Zoo. He had never been to the one in Nashville before and he was super excited (as he is with most things). The week before our trip we went to the library and he got a zoo video. We had to re-rent it before we left for Nashville so we could watch it right before we went to the zoo. Here he is watching it with DarDar.

Rocking on the porch with Grandaddy.

I love the big play area they have for kids here. Obviously, Dad did too:)

He could have done this for hours.

The Tumblebus

Before we made it to the tumblebus we stopped at Alec's house and played with Vivian, Caden, and Jack and ate some lunch. Avery and Paige played a little bit but mostly fought over a little toy:)

This is the tumblebus. It is a bus with all the seats taken out and it is like a gym inside. It comes to a church most Wednesdays and the kids love it! You pay 5 dollars and the kids get a little gym class for 45 minutes. After their class they get gummy bears, stamps, and a I heart tumblebus bracelet. Isn't that a great idea?

Getting ready to do the zip line!
Avery eats her lunch while the big kids are on the bus and awaits the day when she gets to enter the tumblebus.

Our Easter Eggs

Unfortunately, we never got around to dyeing any eggs this Easter but we did make rice krispy treat eggs dipped in chocolate and sprinkles. I saw it on the rice krispy commercial and it seemed easy so we made them. I had never made rice krispy's before and knew they were sticky but my goodness! Alex loved them, of course! Avery was napping so we had the perfect time to make them.

Here is the finished product. We had a system. I made the eggs and he dipped them in chocolate and then the sprinkles. Needless to say, he was a mess!

Mimi's 80th birthday(Family party)

March 25th was Mimi's 80th birthday! She is an amazing woman. She is Alex and Avery's Great-grandmother. You will need to see the videos below to truly understand how amazing this great-grandmother is. She loves her family very much and will do anything she can to help them out in any way she can, whether it is cooking a yummy meal for you, slipping you some money, providing flowers for a party, helping clean for a party or my favorite...babysitting! We all got together at David and Kristy's for a fun time. We love you Mimi and hope you had a great day!

Avery loves her Granddan!

If you have been to Mimi's house when Alex is there you know she will pull out the giant bubbles anywhere, so we did them in the backyard. My favorite is that she just blows them all over her house and who cares where or what they land on. You will be able to see bubble spots on Alex's hat in some pictures.:)

Waiting for present time!

Avery wanted to say Happy Birthday Mimi!

Their house is so fun-Alex loves checking out Uncle David's guitar.
