Santa Claus, IN and Nashville

The first week of August we headed to Nashville to see some friends and of course, family, and then to head to Holiday World in Indiana. Our first stop was at Bailey's for a yummy lunch. I learned how to bake my own chips from her and they are delicious! The kids loved her food and we had a good time catching up and eating! Alex keeps asking when we will see Bailey again.:)
That night we got pizza and headed to a park to see Kristy (a friend from high school) and her three kids, Kaylyn, Julia, and Drew. Alex had a blast playing with them! It was hot, so needless to say the picture of Kristy and I by the end of the night is not good, but I had to put it on here for memories sake:) It was so fun to get to catch up with her and see her sweet kids! And how much they are like her!:)

He just looks so sweaty! UGH!

Avery loves swinging! Alex and Grandaddy pushed her. When Grandaddy would stop she would just look at him like, "OK, start again now please!"

Sweat was just pouring off of us! YUCK!

Julia was all about having her picture taken. She would turn and smile when she saw me taking pictures. Sweet girl!

This was the best we could do with all the kids and I don't think it turned out too bad.

Ready for some pizza! Alex, Kaylyn, and Julia.

The next morning, Mom, Dad, me and the kids headed out to meet the Murray's at Holiday World Theme Park in Santa Claus, IN. We had two day passes and it was so much fun! I used to work at Opryland at the glassblowing shop and the owner, Kathy, lived in Indiana and also had a shop at Holiday World. Russell and I and two of our friends went up to visit probably 11 or 12 years ago, so I wasn't expecting much to have changed, but it has definitely changed! There was so much to do I could have stayed a third day.

Mom bought Alex a new sticker book and he had them covered in stickers on the way to the park. Avery had just taken hers off when I took the picture.

Avery loves the water! She doesn't mind going under and she started blowing bubbles in the pool just the other day.

We called Kathy to ask her about places to stay since there weren't many options and she told us about a campground at Lake Rudolph. So we rented a camper...yes, you heard me right. Below is the picture of it. It was clean so that was really nice and for one night it was great! Two bathrooms and two bedrooms so Avery could have her own room. I would definitely stay there again. Shocking to hear me say that, I know, because I am NOT an outdoors type person-haha! They had a shuttle that would take you back and forth to the park in about 5 minutes. It was really nice. Here is my Calvin Klein model waiting for the bus. I don't know why he was sitting like that!! He is so crazy!

Alex measured 42 inches tall and could ride a lot of the rides with an adult. He was great! He wasn't scared of anything and never complained. If he was tall enough he rode it and loved it. I hope he stays that way. I love going to theme parks and want my kids to enjoy it too! Here is Dana, Dale, Alex, David, and Dad in line for a ride.
This is what they were in line for-the multi-colored tube. I don't think I got the whole ride, I think I'm missing the bottom half which is a big enclosed bowl that you circle around in like a drain.
She was so tired! She got a lot of quality time with Dar Dar. Mom would take her back to the camper for her naps and bedtime, would stay with her if she fell asleep in the stroller, and would stay with her in the kiddie section so we could ride all the other rides. Thanks mom!

Alex in the Kiddie park!

We watched a dive show. Alex was really into I think. I didn't get to sit by him because he had to sit with Davis and Dale. I went and stood behind him once and he turned around and told me to go sit back down. Nice! Already embarrassed of his mom.:(

Here are all the divers with the boys.

Avery was doing her own performance during the dive show. She would walk up and down the steps while holding on to the rail. When people clapped for the divers she turned and smiled like, "thank you, thank you!" I'm laughing just thinking about it. She was totally oblivious to the dive show and thought she was the "show." Davis with the kids.

Alex called this the animal racers. Don't know where that name came from. He loved this ride because he got to ride on his own mat and race us all down!

Alex and Holidog!

On our way out of the park we had to have our picture made with Santa since we were at Holiday World. Alex is into making funny faces these days can't you tell!
With Davis leaving the park. The Murray boys are great! I could always trust Davis and Dale to be so good to Alex and Avery and watch out for them. My kids love those boys!

The night before we left Nashville, we went over to have dinner at Russell and Nan's house and of course, to see Baby T!

Avery had been eyeing the exersaucer all night and finally got a chance to get in it after Tristan went to bed. Hers was not that nice and I think she realized she had been shafted. We got it as a hand me down when Alex was born and it had been through two kids before him, so it was old.

The Beach with Grammy and Papa!

The end of July, John took a couple of days off and we went to the beach with Emily and Jimmy. We had so much fun, as usual! Alex loves the beach and staying at the condo. Avery loves the swimming pool but is not such a big fan of the sand. She's a girl after my own heart!

Without walking down to the beach myself I had to get a picture of Grammy and Alex coming back in. You have to look really close! He has so much fun playing with her. She could stay at the beach all day and Alex loves it! Playing at the restaurant with Grammy. Big girl checking out the menu at the Tin Top. Alex loves playing games on my phone and Grammy's. I told him he can only play it when we go out to eat and at the doctor's office. The minute he walks into a restaurant he says, "Momma/Grammy, can I play a game on your phone?" It's nice because it keeps him entertained but we sometimes have to cut him off so he'll talk to us. He's crazy! Avery was running a fever so Saturday we took her to an urgent care place. She was so mopey and would just let you hold her (which she never does) so we knew she didn't feel good. We were about to put her down for a nap and I had changed her into her pj's, so we just left her in them. She perked up later on so the trip wasn't too bad for her. I think her face says it all about how she felt! We went to the Hangout one night and had a blast! There was a huge sand hill with a tunnel for Alex to play on and a live band. We had a great time! Alex, Jimmy, and Avery were checking out the crazy dancers! Grammy and Avery hanging out! Grammy, Papa, and the kids on the big chair!
