Walt Disney World!

Beware: This post is really long.In early April we headed to Disney World with my parents, Russell, Nan, and Tristan. I was so excited! Alex was too, but he had no idea what he was in for and Avery just wanted to go because the rest of us were. My parents came in town Wednesday, the 6th-my bday!, and left early Thursday morning to drive down with Alex and visit with some family on the way. BTW, Mom, those chocolate fried pies you brought me for my bday were AWESOME!! We were not driving 11 hours with Avery so we flew down Friday afternoon with her. She did great on her first plane ride, mostly sat in John's lap and looked out the window and ate all the snacks offered to her by the stewardess. The weather was a little warm but the crowds and lines were great at the parks-I was pleasantly surprised.

Nan, Russell, and Tristan arrived late Friday night. Saturday, Mom, Dad, and Alex headed to Islands of Adventure. Dad really wanted to take Alex there because he knew he would meet Spiderman-and he did. But I have no picture of it-it's on Mom's camera. Before the trip when I told Alex he would be able to meet Spiderman and that he would just be walking along the streets, Alex asked, "But Mom how can he just be out, doesn't he need to be out fighting?" I told him sometimes superheroes got a day off and came to Disney World while the others covered for him:).

With his new Spiderman toy.
.
The rest of us headed to Downtown Disney! Thought Avery would love getting her picture made with Buzz and Cinderella, but she really could have cared less.

But she loved the dinosaurs in the restaurant. She would point to them and say "bug." She wasn't scared just in awe!

And the girl loves a carousel-cries when she has to get off. Tristan loved riding with her too!

Hanging out on the porch.

Tristan and Avery's first bath together! Lots of splashing going on!

Avery loved playing "horsey" with Aunt Nan while wearing her jacket she didn't need. The girl loves new clothes!

Me and Avery at the dinosaur restaurant.
Alex ready for Islands of Adventure.

Spiderman shooting his web.

I was trying to get a picture of Avery and Tristan, but Tristan stood up and next thing I knew Avery swiftly swiped his leg out from under him as if to say, "sit down, you are having a picture made with me" and smiled real big for the camera.

He was trying real hard to change the channels on the tv.

Sunday we got to drive over to Ocala to see my friend Melanie and her family. She comes up once a year to go to games and hang out with me, but I hadn't been to see her in about 3years. Alex was 9-10 months old last time we visited her. We had so much fun catching up! I loved seeing her house and neighborhood and watching our kids play together. Alex told me the other day, "Isaac lives in Disney Mama." I had a hard time explaining that he didn't! Alex also keeps asking when we are going back to Disney and to see Isaac. I told him his daddy said it would be a few years!:)

Alex and Isaac had to watch Cars.

Thanks Dan and Mel for a fun visit and yummy dinner!

Isaac, Daisy and Avery outside enjoying some yogurt.

Daisy and Avery about to come in. Mel had just gotten some hand me downs and had an 18 month bathing suit for Avery to wear. It was so small but that girl was grunting to get her little arms in it.

Avery pushed this stroller around the whole time!

They had such a fun time running through the hose that Daniel was spraying!

This was Avery on the way home from Daniel and Melanie's. She was so tired-I think she slept a little on the drive over but on the way home she kept yelling, "Bed! Night, Night!" It was so sad and so hilarious at the same time. After many songs she drifted off to sleep for the rest of the car ride.

And Alex was oblivious to all the noise!

Monday we all went to Magic Kingdom.

Alex loved the parades with all of the characters. He just sat there and waved at everyone. I loved watching him!

Tristan and Grandaddy. Sorry these pictures aren't in any order.

This was Avery and Tristan driving through the gates of the park. They were both clapping and so excited! Avery kept saying, "mou-translation Mickey/Minnie Mouse!" In case you don't know, she only says one syllable or part of the syllable of a word. She's getting a little better about this, now she will say, "Min Mou" for Minnie Mouse.

It's a small world! She just sat mesmerized.

It was so nice to have Dar Dar there. Her and Nan would take T and Avery back for much needed naps and the rest of us would stay behind and do as much as possible! It was so wonderful! Thank you Dar Dar!

On the Magic Carpet ride.

On the Jungle Cruise. He didn't believe anything the tour guide told us:)

Dumbo!

Getting on Space Mountain. We rode it twice! I was a little nervous at first that it would be too much for him but he did ok and then asked to ride it a second time.
We had to get Mickey Mouse ears!

He loved dancing with Pluto!

Avery back on the carousel!

Being silly on the tram after a LONG day!
The next day we went to Hollywood. Here he is waiting in line to see Woody and Buzz. When I asked him after we got home from Disney what his favorite part of the trip was he said, "Meeting Woody and Buzz and the Toy Story ride!"

still waiting...

Princess Minnie and Alex!

With Mater-Lightening was getting ready for his new movie. See the Grumpy Munchkin? My dad calls her that and it fits her often.

Alex loved that he honked at him while I was taking the picture.Avery did this all day when we were in lines. She just hung on the poles or the chains, whichever were there.

All of us in line waiting to ride Toy Story Mania-I think it was everyone's favorite. Avery isn't in the picture because she is hanging on the rail.
waiting...

I told you these pictures were out of order. He also got to meet Frozo and Mr. Incredible!

His new Buzz gloves.

This was her lunch one day and the funny thing was NOBODY CARED! She had been whiny and she saw Dar Dar's milkshake and Dar Dar gladly gave it up to make Avery happy. She didn't whine a bit afterwards either-it was sooo worth it!

and waiting some more...at least there were lots of photo ops along the way.
Finally, Woody and Buzz!

Alex and Mike Wazowski.
John was very good at finding all the characters. I would stop to tie Alex's shoe and look up and John would be in a line for Mickey or Mike or whoever. Alex told Mickey, "I like your clubhouse."
Finally, on our way home early Wednesday morning. Aren't they sweet? Alex was telling her they were cleaning the plane so we could get on. They both did pretty well. John and I were exhausted and we both just wanted to shut our eyes. Once, when I opened them Avery had dumped the whole bag of goldfish on the tray table. As I opened my eyes and saw this the steward walked by. We locked eyes and I could tell he was thinking, "really, lady?" I felt terrible, but we cleaned it up with minimal goldfish crumbs left behind. Oh, and again, she ate the entire way home and NOBODY CARED!

We had a wonderful time! Thanks for inviting us Mom and Dad and to Russell and Nan for saving us some money on park tickets by going to that time share meeting. Glad you didn't buy anything Nan!:)
