October Fun Days!

Driving Ms. Avery at Chom.

One late Friday night we headed out to the fair. Alex loved it, but Avery wasn't too sure-can you tell?. She couldn't ride any rides but they had a place set up with all kinds of nasty toys on astroturf for her to play on:)

On the swings all by himself! I was nervous till I realized they didn't go higher than my waist.

The cutest #5!

SHOCKING-she's eating at Alex's soccer game!

Mimi, Grammy, and the kids.

Avery LOVED her Halloween card mom and dad sent her. She carried it around the driveway like she was so proud to have it:).

Cooper(Mark Ingram #22) and Alex (Julio Jones #8) riding on the golf cart. Yes, he has no pants on. Cooper is our neighbor and when he was first born I called him Baby Cooper and Alex would say Baby Pooper. Sweet boy!

Avery and her doll that Aunt Mel gave her. She was pretending she didn't know I was taking her picture.

Alex and his baseball players. I use these as a consequence for him. If he gets out of bed before his sun(nightlight) comes up he doesn't get his baseball players the next day. I've only had to take them away two times. Love them!

Grammy and Papa took him to Peterbrooke to dip a ghost rice krispie treat, oreos, and pretzel sticks in chocolate one afternoon. Emily said he was skeptical about the hairnet but put it on, but he WOULDN'T put the gloves on. How weird is that? We didn't think that would be a problem at all-he wears gloves all the time. He had a great time eating what he made...and so did we!

Julio's football program picture (again, no pants).

He can write his name all by himself! We had been working on it for a while on the whiteboard and he was getting pretty good at it. Then we started writing it on paper and he was doing great. We hadn't practiced or talked about his name in a while but one day he brought me the glodoodle and said he wanted to write his name. We lost the stylus so he used a q-tip. I am so proud of him!!

Melanie's visit!

Melanie came to visit Homecoming weekend and as always, we had a FABULOUS time! John was off so he kept the kids Saturday afternoon and my wonderful MIL, Emily and Grandmother, Mimi, kept them Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. It was so nice to drive to Birmingham to pick her up and not have to worry about what DVD was in and if I had a snack packed:)
Friday night, we went to see Tina, her son, Jack, and her new baby girl, Ana Stella. Sorry we missed you Jason!
Friday afternoon we went to Nick at Noon. We had a good time listening to Nick talk about our loss to South Carolina:( But it was still fun! Thanks for the tix Jimmy!

Friday morning Alex was so excited to see Aunt Mel, especially because she brought him three new cars. Mel was telling him about her son, Isaac, and how he stacks his cars so Alex did the same:)

Bear Jones. We got to go shopping Friday and Saturday (pretty much all day) and go into any store we wanted and take as long as we wanted. It was wonderful! We were both in heaven!:) We really do love our kids but it is nice to have a girls weekend once a year!
Saturday morning we went to watch the Homecoming parade. Don't we all look excited?

Alex loves the band!

Tyrone Prothro!

Papa and Avery. She did not like it when the big trucks would blow their horns. She would grab on tight to whoever was holding her at the moment.

Aunt Mel got into Avery's good graces when she saw how much Alex liked her, Melanie was ok with Avery after that. Thursday night when I checked on Avery she had a dirty diaper so I had to get her up to change her. She saw Mel standing by her changing table and she was giving her some dirty looks. It was hilarious! I left Avery laying there to go throw a way the diaper and Melanie was still standing there by her. Avery started crying like she had been left with a terrible monster. We were so glad she warmed up:)

Alex got to check out the motorcycle while we waited for the parade to start. Now, many people know that I would love to be a police officer on a horse at football games and I was accused of asking the police officer if Alex could sit on the motorcycle for selfish reasons. But it was purely for Alex. I knew he would love it!:)

Alex's best friend, Big Al, gave him a high five as he ran by! Made his day!
Avery and Grammy walking the parade route:)

Outside the stadium, ready for the game. Come back and visit again soon!

Sunday morning we all drove up to Birmingham to drop Mel off at the airport. We found a new place to eat breakfast and took the kids to the park. I love this picture because it shows how Avery walks...see that right arm?:) She shifts her hips and swings her arms like a woman on a mission.

Honeysuckle Hill Pumpkin Farm in Nashville

The pictures are out of order but there are WAY TOO many to try and sort through so I'll just leave them...

In early October, the kids and I headed to Nashville to go to the pumpkin farm that we've been going to since Alex was born. I guess it is now our tradition! This is Avery's second year to go and she had a very good time.

They have this huge rippled slide made from a pipe of some sort.

I was trying to get a sweet picture by this fall/pumpkin/hay scene and as you can see...it didn't work.

Farmer Alex and his sidekick, DarDar.

These were like tractor Big Wheels. Alex and Avery were both too small to ride by themselves so I did it with them. It was slow going, but we made it around the track a few times:)

On the dusty pumpkin train.

This will be in her rehearsal dinner slide show one day:)

Avery wouldn't sit still so I only got one of my little pumpkins!

The "Corn Popper." It is like a huge pillow buried in the ground that you can jump on.

The corn kernel bin. Avery didn't like being in here at all.
The duck races.

Avery did lots of snacking...that's my girl.

This was Avery's favorite...the cow train!

Alex loved the pig races. The pig that our section cheered for was Kevin Bacon and Alex was so disappointed when he lost. The whole weekend he would say, "Hey, I'm Kevin Bacon" or "what was our pigs name again?"

We looked up and he had moved over to sit with these other boys like he knew them from all his time spent in TN. Crazy boy!

The day before we went to the farm we were at the mall (I always gotta do some shopping when I'm in Nashville!) and the kids rode the carousel. Avery cried and walked right back in when it was over. It was so sad!:)
