Papa's Talladega Driving Experience

The first Sunday in April we went to Talladega to watch Papa use his Christmas present and drive 10 laps for the Dale Jarrett Racing Experience. It was so cool! We are not NASCAR fans but it was still really neat and I know Papa had a good time!

Papa and kids after the race.
We gave Parker his bday present of "Fruit Ninja" (from the iphone game) because we thought we would have lots of time to waste...but it wasn't too bad.
How cool is that?
Headed to the track...
Alex thought it would be fun to play with Uncle Parker's camera.
Avery and Grammy making a sign for Papa.

Listening to one of the instructors....Avery liked his red shoes. She kept leaning over the table to look at them.
Signing autographs for the crowd:)
All of the drivers stood at the start line and they played the National Anthem and "Proud to be an American" by Lee Greenwood (brings tears to my eyes every time).
Papa's almost ready!
Just waiting...
He's in the car!
Racing by!!! I can't remember what speed he got up to but I think it was about 180mph.

Getting out of the car. Jimmy said driving the car was really cool and he would do it again in a heartbeat! I might need to ask for it for Christmas...and do it in the winter when it is not SO DANG HOT!
The kids got to yell, "Start your engines!"
Waiting for Papa.
After the race, he got a really cool picture of himself sitting on the car. Avery had to check it out.
