This morning Alex did something he has never done before...but let me back up first. Lately, he has been obsessed with Julio Jones, #8, on Alabama's football team. That is the number on his jersey and Papa and John have been talking to him alot about whose number it is...so he knows Julio Jones's name very well. He wants to wear his jersey all the time. It is really big on him so I don't usually let him wear it out but if we are staying around the house or if he is going to the game then he can wear it. It's great for nap time because I tell him if he doesn't take a nap then I'm gonna come take the jersey off and he can't sleep in it. It has worked every time like a charm:) So he runs around the house (with me chasing him) saying, "I, Julio, mama, I Julio!" And he has told me that I'm "mama Julio." He will come to me and say, "Julio has a boo boo. Mama Julio has to kiss it." It's so sweet! OK, back to one of Alex's firsts...Avery and Alex have a Jack and Jill bath between their rooms so every night I have to make sure that all the doors are closed so Alex can't get in there in the morning. I have door knob safety covers on his bedroom door and bathroom door so he can't roam the house. Well, the air sometimes will open the bathroom door if it is not closed good. Today was obviously one of those times. I was coming out of my room about 7:45 and I heard what sounded like a door opening. I paused for a moment thinking I heard someone and just listening. I walked out in the living room and Alex was standing by the couch. He looked up at me with a huge grin and said, "Whatcha want to play?" Avery was crying and I realized he had gone through the bathroom into her room, gotten out, and he woke her up! I was frustrated that she was awake so I was talking to him sternly, of course, telling him he wasn't allowed to leave his room and he was NOT to go in Avery's room without mommy or daddy. And I said, "Do you understand me, Alex?" He looked up at me and said, "I not Alex mama, I Julio." Guess that made it alright then!:)
My favorite #8!
Using the binoculars at his first game the 2009 season. We don't think he could really see well out of them but he loved "using" them.
John and Jimmy use these radios to listen to the game and post game interviews afterwards. They are really neat! They work in every away stadium too. Alex says "those people talking to me!"

Avery is 3 months old!
She's still my little girl! She weighed 12lbs 8oz yesterday which is just barely over 50th percentile. She is now 23 1/2 inches long, which again is just over 50th percentile. WOW! The time is flying! She eats great and sleeps great! Her first night that I'm saying she slept through the night was the Friday we were at the beach. At 10 wks and 2 days she fell asleep about 7:30 or 8 and got up at 7:30 the next morning. She has been doing great ever since which in turn means I have been doing great also!:) I really need my sleep! I usually rock her for just 2 or 3 minutes and then lay her down still awake and she puts herself to sleep. She is sleeping in her bed during the day now and taking 3 naps a day or sometimes just two with a very early bedtime. Hallelujah! She loves to lay on her changing table and look at her fan. It always puts a smile on her face and she just starts cooing! She is definitely going be a big talker if all the sounds she makes now are any indication. Yesterday at the Dr's she just smiled at him and talked to him while he was checking her out. I have a feeling she and Alex will be fighting for "talk time" one day soon:) He will check on her every once in a while and see what she is doing but he doesn't have a whole lot to do with her right now. Sometimes when I'm feeding her he will say, "Momma, put her down." I told him when she first came home that when she is tired and I go to put her down that he needs to be quiet because if she is sleeping then we can play-so he is all about her naps. She is so easy going now(which is not how it started off) and I'm so thankful for this sweet baby girl! I had her 3 month pictures made today. They turned out really good! I'll see if I can scan some in later.
At the Doctor yesterday.
We were in Nashville for Labor Day and this is the only picture I got! Avery is craning her neck to watch television:) She loves it!

Alex's BIG TX Trip!
July 17th (exactly one month after Avery was born) my parents and Alex went to San Antonio, TX for a week while we stayed behind. Yes, John and I thought we were crazy and have vowed we'll never do that again! I cried my eyes out when they left that Friday morning. But Alex loves the one he is with and I knew he would have a great time! Some family friends, The Murray's, and Russell also got to spend a few days out there. Russell, sorry, but there aren't any pictures of you:( Blame mom!
DarDar, Grandadddy and Alex. Mom made sure he didn't get burned by keeping his big, white, floppy hat on all the time:)
Taking a little train ride.
One of the main reasons they went to San Antonio is because of a water park out there called Schlitterbahn's. My dad loves water parks and really wanted to go to this one. They spent a couple of days there. The whole time leading up to the trip we talked about how Alex was going to go to the "Big Water!" He couldn't wait!
Dad outside of Schlitterbahn's. He looks like an excited little kid:)
Sharing a stroller with Dale.
Playing putt putt at the condo.
They also, visited Sea World. Alex came home with a pet penguin and his favorite thing to say after he came home was, "Shamu splashed me!" And he still talks about how "Shamu went in the water and up out of the water."
Checking out the dolphins!
On the boat!
I'm not sure what type of hat this is but I thought it was a cute picture.
Playing the air guitar with Davis.
Had to see the Alamo while in TX!

Beach trip
We went to the beach the last weekend in August-it was Avery's first time! Emily and I drove down with the kids Thursday night and John and his dad came Friday afternoon. As always, it was a nice relaxing weekend! My goal was to get a family picture of the four of us on the beach because we haven't had one in a year but that didn't happen. We were either gone to the outlet mall too long or it started pouring down rain.:( Maybe one day I'll get my picture!!
Alex loved the baby pool. He wasn't a big fan of the "big" pool, but would get in and throw the football around.
Alex would not cooperate for this picture. It was the only time I had Avery in her swimsuit and he wouldn't even smile. He's getting more like his daddy with pictures sometimes:)
Jimmy bought a kite for him and Alex to fly. They got it up pretty high and then pretty quickly Alex lost interest. Maybe he'll enjoy it again sometime!
He kept Emily busy building tunnels for his "train" (actually, a sand castle mold) to go through. I think she got a good arm workout:)
Splashing with Papa! Jimmy would get up with Alex while the rest of us still wanted to sleep and take him to get doughnuts, beignets, or down to the pool/beach.
He didn't take great naps while we were there and got in bed pretty late and so he finally crashed on the way home. He was holding his spiderman neck pillow. Such a sweet boy!
I just realized I only have one picture of Avery on here so let me add two more. They are of her sleeping:)
