Last Monday some friends from Bham came to visit for a little bit. We hadn't seen them in a while and Miller and Riggs are getting so big! Alex loved showing them around CHOM:). Come back to visit us soon!

The Barnyard
We went to the barnyard last Friday with Caden and Vivian. It was great! At first it looked too small to be much fun but it was perfect for them. They got to hold rabbits and chickens, feed all the animals, ride a pony, take a boat ride, and jump in a bouncy house. I love how he would hold the animals. He was so intent and he would keep his hands so still. He couldn't get enough:).
With Vivian and Caden.
So I know he doesn't look very happy in these pictures but he really did have a blast. This is just the face I get now everytime I go to take his picture and he says "cheese." It's hard to catch his real smile on camera these days because he's trained to say cheese, I guess:).
Looking at the turkey.
Mrs. Cami is the owner and thank goodness she was there. She got in the "petting zoo" part with the kids and would hand them the rabbits and chase the chickens so I didn't have to. Everybody knows I'd rather not touch the chickens:)
Mrs. Cami put a chick in his bucket. All the kids thought that was funny!
Riding Trigger, the pony. He loved it! He kept his hands perfectly still on the horn of the saddle the whole time.
All the kids got to bottle feed the pig.
This is video of him on Trigger.

Mother's Day
Abbie and Alex with Mamaw
With Mimi and Grammy and his hand prints. Emily helped him make these stone hand prints for me, Mimi, and Aunt Kristy. They are precious!
Showing Grammy the card he got her and how they can plant seeds from it.
Opening Mimi's present.
Helping me open my present.
Helping Aunt Kristy open her present.
Alex wrote "mom" on my card! Isn't he so smart!!??
My card from Alex. Notice he drew a picture of me, him, and John. And then another picture...we think it may be of his baby sister.
Tuesday before Mother's Day I had a Doctor's appt and John was off so he kept Alex. I came home, we went to lunch, and then we put Alex down for his nap. He woke up about 5:30 or 6 and we were all in the computer room while he was "drawing." Out of the blue he said, "we got you a present momma." I said, "oh you did??" but dropped it. A few minutes later he said, "we wrote on it." About this time John says, "Alex we were supposed to wait until Sunday. It's a surprise for momma." Then a few minutes later Alex says, "we wrapped it momma." Of course, now I'm getting excited because all I told John I wanted to do was go to eat somewhere for Mother's Day and that I didn't need him to buy a gift. John asks Alex if he wanted to go ahead and give me my present and he says yes so they go to get it. I get two cards and a present wrapped in Santa Claus paper that Alex also picked out from our stash. Inside (and now you will know the reason Alex couldn't wait until Sunday to give me my present)was a GREEN MOTORCYCLE!! Alex is modeling it below. He keeps telling me it's my present but I'm "sharing." I told John I need another present because Alex never lets me play with this one. It was so sweet! He picked it all out for me by himself (with a little help from dad). And Alex is very proud to tell me every time we pass CVS "that's where we got your mother's day present momma." I told him next time to send his daddy to a jewelry store:).

Some more pictures!
Alex's first time with cotton candy. Of course he LOVED it!
We went to Scott's house(one of John's partner's). I didn't know where Alex was and so I walked in the living room and him and Scott were sitting on the couch watching tv together. :) Hilarious!
He played guitar for the girls while they danced!
He loves driving Papa's boat!

Trip to Atlanta
A couple of weekends ago we decided to take Alex to the aquarium in Atlanta. Alex and I had been almost a year ago but John hadn't been with us. We also knew we would be able to see some friends while we were there so we headed out! The pictures are not in order. Sorry!
Alex with Beau Butler-Brian and Alicia's little boy. He is so cute! He looks so much like Brian to me. He can make some crazy faces too if he's upset-it's hilarious! We got to meet them for lunch on our way out of town Sunday. When I told Alex we were going to see a new friend, Beau, he looked at me and said, "BIG BOAT!" Guess he misunderstood:) But by the end of lunch he was ready to go play at Beau's house.
With Deepo-The aquarium's version of Nemo.
He loved all the little kids around. He would just work his way by a group of them or sit next to one and look at the fish. He found this little girl before we went in to the movie and they laid down and people watched.
We got to eat with Gibby, his wife, Crystal, and Kelly and her little boy, Lucas. I realized after we left them that I didn't get one picture with Lucas and Kelly-maybe next time! Crystal is an elementary teacher and the way she talked to Alex was so cute. Alex really liked her!
With Deepo.
Watching his penny spin round and round.
Trying to touch a stingray-but everytime one would come by he would pull his hand up.
He's never really messed with my camera before but he wanted to take his own picture this time. He did pretty good!
At first Alex didn't even want to step foot into our hotel room. I realized he hasn't stayed in a hotel room since he's become so aware of everything around him. It was dark in the room and finally we found some lights and he just looked around. It was about 9pm and he didn't want to put his pj's on or take his shoes off. But he eventually warmed up to it! He loved to play guitar on the chair and play trains in the closet.:)
After the aquarium we went across the street to this park. It was really hot, so we didn't stay long.
Looking at the beluga whales!
He wanted to go see another "big movie(that is what he says in the video)" so we went to this 4D movie about Deepo and his friends under the sea. When you asked him what he wanted to do this is what he would say.
