Christmas morning!

Santa has been here! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

The kids had been asking to sleep together, so we let them Christmas Eve night. I think it is a cute tradition they may have started...but we will see how long it lasts:). I thought they would talk for a while but Alex told her Santa wouldn't come if they were awake.

Alex opening Avery's present to him...a little Alabama football. He got her a magnet with two kittens in a basket. He knew she would love the kittens!

She loves her umbrella. She told me she needed one one day in Walmart, "in case it rains." She kept repeating that...guess Santa thought she needed one too.

Mariokart! The boy loves beating anyone who will race him!

Minnie Mouse bike! I saw her yesterday standing on the seat (while holding the handlebars). She's crazy! She has gotten really good at being able to start pedaling on her own and continuously pedalling.

Alex got a razer trike that can do 360's. I asked him if he had a good Christmas and he said, "Santa didn't really bring me anything I asked for, but I got some good stuff." Whew!

He had to put on his power ranger costume before he opened presents.

Christmas Eve night

Christmas Eve night we headed to Mimi's for some more family fun!

David and Kristy have this game that Alex likes to play and it helps him add numbers. It's amazing! He would roll a 6 and a 3 and he said,"that is 9." Then you have to push down numbers that equal what you roll and he could do different combinations of numbers that equal 9, like 8-1 or 5-4. I was impressed!

Mimi is an awesome hostess, great-grandmother, etc! Look how pretty the table is!

Who is at the door??

SANTA!!

The kids were shocked and excited and a little nervous. They are usually not too shy but Alex kept rolling his shirt up and Avery kept pulling her dress over her head. It was hilarious! We sang songs and they (mostly Alex) talked to Santa for a long time. Alex told him he wanted a power ranger ray gun and a power ranger bike and Avery quickly told him she wanted a Minnie Mouse bike and a Minnie Mouse helmet.

Avery still isn't quiet sure about Santa. She has been telling me that she will be nice to Santa next year!:)

Eggnog mouth! They both love it! They learned about it from the song "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer" when the line says, "she'd been drinking too much eggnog." Alex immediately began asking what it was and I told him Mimi would have some for them to try on Christmas eve.

Christmas Eve Day with Grammy and Papa

We got together Christmas Eve with Grammy and Papa and had a yummy lunch and then a fun time opening presents! Alex was really into presents this year and eyed constantly what he had and what others had to open. Avery had to point out her presents to Papa as soon as she walked in.

Alex's excitement spilled over and made Avery excited too! She couldn't wait to rip into those presents!

Avery loves snow globes and Grammy got her this one to commemorate their going to see "The Nutcracker" earlier in the month. Avery remembers the little bit of the play she saw (because it was past her bedtime) and knows she did not like the "bad guys" haha!

Avery brought "her" puppy to be friends with Bella during the festivities of Christmas eve.

Papa wasn't quiet sure about his gift at first...but warmed up quickly to the idea of driving some laps at the Dale Jarrett Racing experience in Talladega!

Alex got Alabama sheets...and while he liked them he just didn't seem to think that was a "fun" present and he wondered where his other presents were.:) We had to have many conversations about presents and the "true" meaning of Christmas and how people give him presents because they love him-they don't have to give him anything, but his sweet 4 year old mind just couldn't see past all the presents!:) I see many more conversations like this in the years to come!

He found these upstairs and thought these were some presents they had for him. He just knew there was "more!"

Alex liked his football helmet piggy bank from uncle Parker, but just seemed to think he should have something "fun".

Finally, Grammy and Papa told them they had a gift for them to share out in the garage. They were so excited to go see it!

A bouncy house!! They love it and it fits in our garage too!
