Alex is a very social boy and wanted to invite a million people to his birthday party. I think we narrowed it down to about 25 and then he had a great party at the Methodist church gym. We took our bouncy house, we rented the caterpillar inflatable, and the kids could ride around or play ball.
Alex and his Ninjago cake.
Avery and Kennedy-she lives just a few houses down from us.
Avery and Kyler.
Coming out of the caterpillar! Yes, this is a little strange looking, but the kids love it!
My sweet 6 yr old!
Ella and Miles-Alex's best friend and Avery's (depending which day it is.)
Jaylen, Alex, Tristan, Mom, Kyle and Avery.
Jack Glyien, Cooper, and Ford.
Kyler and Emma.
Leslie and Emma.
He would not get up from the table until all of his food was gone!
Will and Ayden.
A mob surrounded him when it was present time and it just moved all around the table. Weird!

More birthday celebrations!
Alex got to celebrate at Grammy and Papa's house and at Mimi's house also!
Opening his present at Grammy and Papa's.
The note attached...
And the new red razor scooter hiding in their closet!
Papa showing him how it works!:)
Mimi and Avery bringing in his cake.
We also celebrated Papa's birthday too, but thankfully he doesn't mind Alex's overshadowing his.
He got a baseball machine! Can't wait till it's warmer and he can use it!
He got a new jersey!
Mimi and Granddan gave her alpha-bots. They are letters that turn into robots! She loves them!
Showing Mimi his ipod! So cute!
Thanks for all the birthday fun!

Alex turned 6!
I cannot believe it! I say that every year, I know, but my goodness! Alex has grown so much this past year, time really has flown. I'm excited to see what God has in his plans for this boy! He is so kind, thinks of others often, a great big brother, and just a sweet, sweet boy.
Here are some pictures from his "birthday" room!
That night we went to eat at Jason's Deli (he picked it because of the free ice cream!) and then we went back to John's office to open his present from us.
The Madden Wii game! He has played that game so much since January!
Here is a shot of him opening a birthday card he got in the mail with $6 in it!
Avery had to take a picture too.:)
At his 6 year check up he was 49 in. tall and weighed 60lbs. That is 97th percentile in height and weight. He has not lost a tooth yet, but one or two are loose. He loves to play any sport, especially the big three. Alex and his friend Miles, that lives in our neighborhood, will get off the bus and head straight to the park ready to play baseball or football most days. He usually wants to follow directions. He is definitely a people pleaser but kindergarten has introduced him to lots of new words, so we are daily working on what is appropriate to say and what's not. He likes to buy his lunch at school, but when he takes his lunch all he wants is a turkey sandwich or chicken nuggets and ranch. He still loves stick cheese and applesauce-thank goodness! He has started baseball and is doing really well at it!
Some funny things he has said lately...One night we were in the living room and we had read their story before bed and I said let's just say our prayers in here together and he looked at me with this scared look and said, "No, mama, I need to go pray in private in my room. The bible says we aren't supposed to pray in front of people." That was a fun one to discuss! He had just talked about the Pharisees in church and it really hit home with him. Glad he's listening!
After the National Championship game when we were walking out of the stadium he said, "I'm so happy, I could marry myself!" We all got a big kick out of that! And he was so excited that it was early Tuesday morning. He couldn't believe he had stayed awake for a whole day!:)
One night, his prayer was for him to be better at pillow fighting and to be taller than mom and dad.
One day at school they had the local Birmingham weather man come visit, James Spann. He talked about James Spann for days! He had learned so much about weather and was passing on all he had learned. There is a little boy named James in our neighborhood. I asked him if he wanted James to come over and play. He said, "Mama, do you mean James Spann or the one we know?" Ha!
He is a bid daddy's boy right now. Everything John says is the gospel truth and what I say is wrong. It's crazy and normal I know. But I'm so glad they have that relationship. It is just hilarious sometimes to watch them.
We love you Alex! Can't wait to see how you grow this next year!

Miami!
This is long overdue (and super disorganized) but I have to put it up or it may be....never....before I get to it again! We had the best trip to Miami in January. We flew into Tampa and then drove over to Miami. I introduced Alex to Will Smith's song on the drive over:).
The celebration after we won! Told you these were out of order.:)
Papa and Grammy enjoying a yummy, super-booked, outdoor patio seating restaurant.
We took a tour of the Marlin's baseball stadium Monday before the game. Alex loved it! But it has now turned him into a Heat fan instead of a Marlin's fan! go figure!
On our way home.
These alligators were hanging out at one of the gas stations we stopped at-one reason I wouldn't want to live in Florida!
We got to spend a little time in the pool with the 80 degree weather.
We ate at Joe's! How cool is that roll??
Alex got these helmets of all the MLB teams. He spent lots of time lining them up in straight lines.
We tried it and didn't like it! I had heard how great it was for you but oh my!
Ready to go in!
Getting a little sleepy...
Gone! He was only asleep about 10 minutes and then he was awake for the celebration!
The bobble head museum! How cool is that?
Do you see the fish swimming around? We thought that was pretty cool right there on the field!
He asked if he could run down the field:).
At Bal Harbour Mall.
Out on the beach they had all sorts of fun "football" things to do. Of course, he wanted to do them all!
Parachuters!
He made 3 in a row! He was pretty excited!
Versace house.
We put John and Alex to bed our first night there and went to dinner where we were entertained by a flamenco dancer.
Our hotel (and we match!:))
